Why you will soon be using Linux instead of Microsoft products

Why I like Linux:

You have choices
like several distributions...

You have several major distributions to choose from:

• Fedora
• Redhat
• SuSE
• Mandrake
• Linspire
• Debian
• Gentoo

NOTE:
Distributions install Linux on your computer.
Once installed, you have access to basically all the SAME Linux programs.
So, it's a matter of choice which one you use.

WizarDave recommends Fedora

• It's arguably the most updated distribution.
• It installed on my computer without a hitch.
• Many applications available for the latest release in rpm format.
• It's totally FREE
• Meaning you can install it on as many computers as you want.
• Meaning you will have to do some additional work
  to get some things to work
  like mp3's, due to licensing restrictions.

Notes:

• Some distributions cost money. Compare.
• Some distributions are free.

How to get distributions:

• Download and burn the disk.
• Using your favorite p2p (peer to peer) program.
• From web sites.
• Use torrent.
• Buy a book with an included install CD. Recommended!
• Buy a computer with Linux already installed.
