- FooBillard
- A 3d 3d billard game for x - FooBillard is an attempt to create a free OpenGL-billard for Linux. Why foo? Well, actually I had this logo (F.B.-Florian Berger) and then foo sounds a bit like pool (Somehow I wasn't quite attracted by the name FoolBillard) Actually FooBillard is still under development but the main physics is implemented. If you are a billard-pro and you're missing some physics, please tell me. Cause I've implemented it like I think it should work, which might differ from reality.

- Clone of the C64 Game Paradroid - This is a clone of the classic game "Paradroid" on Commodore 64 with some improvements and extensions to the classic version.
In this game, you control a robot, depicted by a small white ball with a few numbers within an interstellar spaceship consisting of several decks connected by elevators.
The aim of the game is to destroy all enemy robots, depicted by small black balls with a few numbers, by either shooting them or seizing control over them by creating connections in a short subgame of electric circuits.

- Freedroid RPG
- A Diablo clone with the Tux as hero and the MS as evil power - The Freedroid RPG is an extension/modification of the classical freedroid engine into an RPG. The main differences to the classical version are as follows:
* The Tux is the main character of the rpg. He is not displayed as a ball like in Freedroid but rather as an animated character, while other droids and humans in the game are still represented as the balls with some number or code in them.
* Dialogs and chatting with friendly droids and humans: Multiple-choice menus and voice samples (with subtitles for those without sound).
* Melee weapons, armour and other items to be equipped have been added.
* An automap feature was added.
* Saving and loading of games.
* A shop to trade things.
* Controls are different: Mouse can be used to do everything. Joystick is not supported for moving around any more.
* The archive size (including sound samples) is about 10 times as big as for the classical version. I'd like to appologize to all 56K modem owners at this point.

Notes:
- I use Apt/Synapsis to keep my Fedora Linux box up to date
- These would also be available through YUM or some of the other updaters
For all you hard core gamers:
Some of you may be disappointed with the quality of games available for Linux. Waaah! 8^)
Take the money you save on buying a high-end WinDoze computer and buy a PS2 or XBox or whatever. Some of you are spending $1500+ on a gaming computer. Take that money and buy a nice big TV, PS2 and a whole bunch of games!
My oldest boy Dave, Jr. told me when he was up for Christmas that it's really kinda fun to just sit down and play pacman or some of the "old" classic games. There ya go. I have to agree!

It's all about having choices
That's one of the biggest reasons I prefer Linux over Windoze.
