- Globulation2 - a state of the art Real Time Strategy (RTS) - Glob2 is a state of the art Real Time Strategy (RTS) game. It is free software released under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
Globulation in a whole is an on-going project to create an innovative high quality gameplay by minimizing micro-managment and assigning automatically the tasks to the units. The player just has to order the number of units he wants for a selected task and the units will do their best to satisfy your requirements.
Glob2 can be played by a single player, through your Local Area Network (LAN), or through Internet thanks to Ysagoon Online Game (YOG), a meta-server. It also features a scripting language for versatile gameplay and an integrated map editor.

- Addictive game based on "The Settlers of Catan" - Gnocatan is an Internet playable implementation of the Settlers of Catan board game. The aim is to remain as faithful to the board game as is possible.

- GNOME games - The gnome-games package includes some small games that come with the GNOME desktop environment but can be used under any desktop. The games are mostly puzzle or solitaire games.

- GNUchess
- The GNU chess program - The gnuchess package contains the GNU chess program. By default, GNUchess uses a curses text-based interface. Alternatively, GNUchess can be used in conjunction with the xboard user interface and the X Window System for a graphical chessboard.
Install the gnuchess package if you would like to play chess on your computer. If you'd like to use a graphical interface with GNUchess, you'll also need to install the xboard package and the X Window System.

- GNOME version of a tetris game playable on the net - GTetrinet is a client program for the popular Tetrinet game, a multiplayer tetris game that is played over the internet. (If you don't know what Tetrinet is, check out tetrinet.org)

- Conway's game of life - GtkLife is a fast and user-friendly implementation of Conway's Life program. It is something comparable to the venerable XLife in speed, but with a more modern and featureful GUI. It is not tied to any particular desktop environment.

- Clone of 'bjeweled' or 'diamond mine' - Gweled is a Gnome version of a popular PalmOS/Windows/Java game called "Bejeweled" or "Diamond Mine". The aim of the game is to make alignment of 3 or more gems, both vertically or horizontally by swapping adjacent gems. The game ends when there are no possible moves left.

- Cute multiplayer network game with bunnies - You, as a bunny, have to jump on your opponents to make them explode. It's a true multiplayer game, you can't play this alone. It has network support.

For all you hard core gamers:
Some of you may be disappointed with the quality of games available for Linux. Waaah! 8^)
Take the money you save on buying a high-end WinDoze computer and buy a PS2 or XBox or whatever. Some of you are spending $1500+ on a gaming computer. Take that money and buy a nice big TV, PS2 and a whole bunch of games!
My oldest boy Dave, Jr. told me when he was up for Christmas that it's really kinda fun to just sit down and play pacman or some of the "old" classic games. There ya go. I have to agree!
