| Men folk would sit around
the front porch teaching boys how to whittle whistles out of willow, etc. |
Often the women folk would
join them. They taught young girls how to get the men folk to pick up their dirty socks,
etc. |
Of course, kids were often
seen sitting on grown ups laps or off somewhere playing. |
| Adults discussed
religion, politics, family,
money and life in general. They solved the problems of the world. They
had fun together. They supported each other. They connected with each other. |
Kids taught other kids how to whistle, climb trees,
catch frogs and how to have fun! |
Older
folks were able to pass along
the wisdom of their age to the younger folk.
Those who knew passed on
their knowledge to those less experienced.
Lives were shaped by family values
passed along from the front porch meetings. |
| The gatherings ended with everyone on
the front porch enjoying the sunset and homemade peach ice cream. This is the way it was
just a few short years ago. Families were close and dependent on each other. |
Welcome to the next level!
The Virtual
Front Porch
Connecting
people to people
Our Creed |
That is the goal for this
website. To connect like minded people
together. Family, friends and business acquaintances.
To help families reconnect with each other.
To pass on wisdom
about religion, politics, family, money...
You know... LIFE!!!
To help everyone take full advantage of the Internet. |
| Look how far we have grown apart. If
this present course is not changed I'm afraid this very important part of life will be
lost. We can't go back to those times. We have to bring that spirit back with today's
technology. |
