What Has Happened To Me?
What does it mean to be saved?
(converted, born again, a Christian)
Submitted by: Ben Dobbs
Pastor of the Longview Baptist Church
Purpose:
To help each believer to understand what God has done and is doing in their lives.
Introduction:
I want to introduce you to three basic facts you will be studying in this first lesson.
- Being saved is a gift and is in triplicate.
- You have been redeemed.
- You have been born again.
- You have been adopted.
- Being saved is a process that has three stages.
- You have been saved;
- You are being saved;
- You are going to be saved.
- Because of your decision, you will never come to trial before God. Thus, your soul is secure and your salvation is forever.
In Conclusion
You are God's and there is reserved for you a place in heaven.
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
John 14:1-6

Recommended uses of this article.
If you have a web site, you should have a page telling the Good News of Jesus Christ. At the very least you should link to a Gospel Page.
Ask anyone who prays the "Sinner's Prayer" to follow the link to this page. Or better yet, have them contact you via email or a chat program. Then discuss these areas with them. You may also want to discuss with them the act of Baptism and help them find a local church to become a member of.
A newly saved person is like a sheep without a shepherd. They will be devoured by the wolves. Take the time to give them a firm foundation in their new found gift.
We are very pleased to host this Bible Study. Many of today's ministries are very effective in leading people to Christ. However, the new Christians slip through the cracks. Only 4% of people who attend major crusades and ask Jesus to save them, actually end up in a local church. You've taken the time and effort to develop your online ministries. Take them to the next level...
