Managed a Campground
Leach Lake, Minnesota
After I got out of the Navy, I managed a campground in Minnesota on Leach Lake. I
thought I would get to fish all the time. NOT!!! That is, until, I had quit and was
getting ready to move back to Missouri.
My wife and I finally had time to fish. We caught several northern
pike and "rock" bass(a red-eyed bass). My
favorite lure was a frog colored Lazy Ike. While we were there, Brandi, my step-daughter
caught a huge (5# or so) Dogfish. I don't really know what that was, but it kind of looked
like a catfish with teeth.
Leach Lake is known for it's world class Muskie fishing. The arm where the
campground was had lots of good walleye fishing. I did see a 15# or so pike a camper
caught.
